Kids Programs

Although we now are so much more, we began as a children’s library. True to our roots, we are constantly growing and improving our classes and programs to provide fun, quality experiences for our youth of all ages. With the freedom to enrich and educate children through play, laughter and kindness, our after school classes, summer programs and activities continue to provide valuable, healthy and happy experiences.

Adult Programs

Round Top Family Library offers resources well beyond those of a traditional lending library including free public WIFI, yoga and exercise classes, senior gaming, book clubs, our popular FYI lecture series and new Author Author programs. We are now a regional community center.

Facility Funding

A great number of committed volunteers maintain the library’s expansive gardens and support its many programs. Our programs not only include a variety of educational and enrichment activities for children, but programs for adults, free public WIFI, yoga classes, popular lecture series, computer instruction course, and other classes for seniors. Facility funding helps maintain the library, expand its programs and services, and help grow physically. Facility funds created the area’s first public playground, as well as helped to restore and transform the historic Rummel House into an Activity Center for the regional community.

Chili Cook-Off

This event supports the Round Top Family Library, the smallest public library in Texas. Musical performances by The Black Cat Choir will kick off this fun family outdoor event. Join a friendly crowd, taste chili, have a beverage, dance, visit with friends, by a rare book, enjoy kids activities, shop our silent and live auction‘s and vote for your favorite chili and the team with the best showmanship! All proceeds benefit the Library.

Wrangler's Gala

Each year, the library holds an important fundraiser in early September, usually the 2nd Saturday of the month.  On odd-numbered years, the Wrangler’s Gala is a large, more formal event that contributes almost 1/2 of the funds needed to operate the library for a year.  On even-numbered years, we hold a fun, informal event called Books, Boots & BBQ – it’s focus is to enthusiastically thank our community and our wonderful volunteers for all their help and support.  Our donors and underwriters are so valued as they help us to maximize the funds raised to allow the library to serve our community.
